Bayern has workout at Santa Anita

Arcadia, CA (SportsNetwork.com) – Breeders’ Cup Classic champ Bayern posted a
workout Friday morning at Santa Anita in preparation of a 2015 campaign.

Trained by Bob Baffert, Bayern covered four furlongs in 46.20 seconds under
jockey Martin Garcia who guided the 3-year-old to victory in the Classic at
Santa Anita on Nov. 1.

“This is his second breeze back,” the Hall of Fame trainer noted. “He did it
pretty easy. I didn’t think he was going that fast … It looked like he was
galloping. I just told him to cruise around there but he did it pretty easy.”

Owned by Kaleem Shah, Bayern won six of 10 starts in 2014 for $4,389,680.
Along with winning the Classic the colt captured the Woody Stephens Stakes,
Haskell Invitational and Pennsylvania Derby.
