Moonshine Mullin getting closer to return

Hot Springs, AR (SportsNetwork.com) – Moonshine Mullin, winner of last year’s
Stephen Foster Handicap, may soon begin workouts after recovering from a leg
injury.

Trained by Randy Morse for Randy Patterson, Moonshine Mullin is coming back
from a minor leg injury. A broken splint bone was surgically removed
approximately six weeks ago.

“He’s doing good since we took that splint bone out,” Morse said at Oaklawn
Park. “It’s a shame. I sure wish I had him ready. He loves this race track.”

Moonshine Mullin hasn’t raced since winning last year’s Foster Handicap over
Eclipse Award winner Will Take Charge. Morse said the horse had a tiny
ligament tear in one of his ankles last summer.

Moonshine Mullin has earnings of just over $1 million with nine wins from 32
career starts. Prior to winning the Foster, Moonshine Mullin captured the
Alysheba in defeating Golden Ticket with Will Take Charge finishing sixth.
