Shared Belief has workout leading to Charles Town Classic

Berkeley, CA (SportsNetwork.com) – Leading thoroughbred Shared Belief had a
Monday workout at Golden Gate Fields as the gelding prepares for his next
start in the $1.5 million Charles Town Classic on April 18.

Shared Belief, trained by co-owner Jerry Hollendorfer, worked six furlongs on
Golden Gate’s synthetic track and was timed in 1:14.20.

The 4-year-old Eclipse Award winner will be traveling outside California for
the first time when he boards an airplane for West Virginia.

“There’s always that element of doing something new,” Hollendorfer said.
“But so far, we’ve shipped him up and down the coast and he hasn’t seemed to
mind.

“Flying is different, but we think he’ll do that just fine also.”

Shared Belief has won both starts this year with victories in the San Antonio
Invitational over Horse of the Year California Chrome at Santa Anita and the
$1 million Santa Anita Handicap on March 7

The 2013 champion 2-year-old has banked $2,932,200 with just one loss in 11
career starts.
