Starlet Stakes features Take Charge Brandi

Los Alamitos, CA (SportsNetwork.com) – Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies winner
Take Charge Brandi returns to the track this Saturday versus six rivals in the
$350,000 Starlet Stakes at Los Alamitos Race Course.

Take Charge Brandi, trained by Hall of Famer D. Wayne Lukas for Willis Horton,
will be making her second start since winning the Juvenile Fillies in the 1
1/16-mile Starlet. The leading 2-year-old filly will start from post 6 and
will be reunited with jockey Victor Espinoza.

Take Charge Brandi followed her surprise victory in the Juvenile Fillies with
a 1 1/2-length win in the Delta Downs Princess Stakes just three weeks ago.
The filly captured the Juvenile Fillies on Nov. 1 as a 61-1 longshot.

The filly broke her maiden in her debut at Churchill Downs in June. She was
second at Saratoga in the Schuylerville and fifth in the Adirondack Stakes.
The filly followed with a fifth in the Pocahontas at Churchill and was eighth
in Keeneland’s Alcibiades.

Take Charge Brandi has won three of seven starts for $1,410,126.
