Workouts abound heading to 141st Kentucky Derby

Louisville, KY (SportsNetwork.com) – Saturday marked the three-week mark
until the runnning of the 141st Run for the Roses on May 2. Several Kentucky
Derby contenders had workouts at Churchill Downs.

Louisiana Derby winner International Star, who leads the Kentucky Derby points
list with 171, worked five furlongs in 1:01.80. The 3-year-old colt is owned
by Ken and Sarah Ramsey, trained by Mike Maker and will be ridden in the Derby
by Miguel Mena.

Also working five furlongs Saturday was Danzig Moon. Owned by John C. Oxley,
Danzig Moon covered the distance in 58 seconds. The Blue Grass Stakes runner-
up is trained by Mark Casse and ridden by Julien Leparoux.

Keen Ice, owned by Donegal Racing, worked six furlongs Saturday and was timed
in 1:13.20. The colt, fourth in the Louisiana Derby, is ridden by Angel Cruz
and trained by Dale Romans.
